When trying to deactivate Mo.net Licence Manager, you may sometimes get a "5016" error code or on the Mo.net Licence Manager it shows that it is still activated even after deactivating it. It might bring up an error page as shown in the image below:


This indicates that the Licence Manager is not contacting or retrieving the updated Licence information from the Mo.net Licence Server.


Solution:


In the log file identify the location that the application is trying to retrieve the licence information from. This should be a path starting C:\ProgramData\Software Alliance and will be a file named Licence.xml. Once identified then delete the file.

After deleting the file, restart Mo.net Licence Manager, you should get a screen that allows you to activate the Mo.net Licence Manager.
